Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Thursday 29 September – Toronto
Depart from Sydney on your economy class flight to Toronto via Los Angeles. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel to recover from your flight.
Toronto is situated on the shores of Lake Ontario and is Canada’s business capital and largest city.
Tonight we will have a welcoming function at the hotel, including our jumper presentation. We will also cover the rules of the infamous ‘Downlow’ medal and introduce you to ‘Chopper’. Tonight we will get amongst it and check out the local nightlife.
Day 2 Friday 30 September – Toronto & Niagara Falls
We will have our first training run in the morning. Find out whether the coach enjoys light runs or ‘gut-busters’. Today we will visit the world famous and spectacular Niagara Falls. The equivalent of more than 1 million bathtubs full of water goes over the falls every second. A Maid of the Mist boat will take us up close for a loud and wet view from the bottom of the falls.
Day 3 Saturday 1 October – Toronto
Today is a free day to relax and enjoy Toronto. Just some of the famous attractions you can see include the 553m high CN Tower, the Skydome, Old Town of York and many others. Ice hockey fans can check out the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Day 4 Sunday 2 October – Toronto
Today we will play our first match against the Canadian national team. Lining up in the green and gold for the first time while listening to the national anthem is an awesome experience and one that you will never forget. Our after match party will be held in conjunction with the Canadians, where the Convicts Cup will be presented to the winning team
Day 5 Monday 3 October – New York
This morning will board our flight to New York. On arrival in the Big Apple you will be transferred to your hotel. The self-declared ‘Capital of the World’, New York is truly one of the world’s greatest cities. Whether you’re in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island or the Bronx – you will never be left in doubt that New York is truly alive. It is the city that never sleeps, that never stops – enjoy! Our hotel is located right in the heart of Times Square!
Day 6 Tuesday 4 October – New York
This morning you will board a coach for our full day sightseeing tour of New York. Just some of the famous attractions you will see include the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building and Times Square. You are free to hop on and off the bus at any time to spend some more time at a particular destination.
Day 7 Wednesday 5 October – New York
This morning we will train in the massive (843 acres) Central Park. In the afternoon we will board the famous Staten Island ferry. The ferry provides a majestic view of New York Harbor – from the deck of the ferry you will have a perfect view of The Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and the many skyscrapers and bridges of Lower Manhattan.
Day 8 Thursday 6 October – New York
Today is a free day to explore the Big Apple. Optional tours include a visit to the Bronx Zoo and a helicopter tour of Manhattan! Tonight is our last night in New York and we will definitely enjoy it!
Day 9 Friday 7 October – Jacksonville
Today we will fly to Jacksonville, Florida – the largest city in area in the continental United States. After checking into our hotel we will enjoy a walking tour of the city before heading out for a meal at the fantastic Jacksonville Landing, located downtown on the northbank of the St. Johns River.
Day 10 Saturday 8 October – Jacksonville
Today we will play our second match of the tour against the Jacksonville Axemen. Tonight our after match party will be held in conjunction with the Axemen, where the Convicts Cup will be presented to the winning team.
Day 11 Sunday 9 October – Jacksonville
Today is a free day to relax and recharge the batteries. Options include sitting by the hotel pool with a few quiet ones or seeing some more of Jacksonville. If they are playing at home, we will enjoy some live NFL action by watching the Jacksonville Jaguars play.
Day 12 Monday 10 October – Jacksonville to Las Vegas
This morning we will leave for the amazing Las Vegas, an ever-changing fantasy-land of a city, which has seen unbelievable expansion since it emerged from the desert 100 years ago. 38 million visitors enjoy the sights and sounds of Las Vegas every year, and so will we. You will be dazzled by Vegas, but the sheer number of things to see and do can seem overwhelming. Tonight we will roll up for the official Convicts Magical Mystery Tour of the famous Vegas strip!
Day 13 Tuesday 11 October – Las Vegas
Today is a free day to enjoy yourselves and relax. Options include a day tour to the magnificent Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon is immense – it is 1500m deep, 446km long, and up to 29km wide. The 15 second tour is quicker but not recommended!
Day 14 Wednesday 12 October – Las Vegas
Today will be our last day in Vegas to enjoy all the sights. You could go and see the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay, Stratosphere Tower, the Secret Garden of Siegfried & Roy at the Mirage and many others. Tonight we will farewell Vegas in style!
Day 15 Thursday 13 October – Las Vegas to Los Angeles
This morning we will depart Las Vegas for our flight to Los Angeles. The home of Disneyland and Hollywood, the City of Angels is an amazing place. In the afternoon we will board our air-conditioned coach for our Hollywood tour. We will also check out the homes of well-known movie stars, including Beverly Hills, Sunset Strip and Rodeo Drive.
Day 16 Friday 14 October – Los Angeles
Today is a free day to do some additional sightseeing. Options include Disneyland, Universal Studios, Santa Monica or famous Venice beach!
Day 17 Saturday 15 October – Los Angeles
Today we will play our third match of the tour against the OC Outlaws. Tonight our after match party will be held in conjunction with the Outlaws, where the Convicts Cup will be presented to the winning team.
Day 18 Sunday 16 October – Los Angeles to Australia
All good things must come to an end and unfortunately Convicts tours are no exception. You will depart from LA Airport for your connecting flight back to Australia. If you would like to spend more time in the USA before returning to Australia this is a good opportunity to do so.
